About us…

HEMA bind with feders

The Edmonton German Fencing Guild

is a non-profit HEMA club based in Edmonton dedicated to historical fencing

Vision: To see historical fencing become a widely practised pastime, enjoyed by people of all shapes, identities, and backgrounds.

Mission: To unite traditional martial arts techniques with innovative sport training so our practice stays effective and our fencers continue to improve.

Values: Courage, Cunning, Respect, Safety, Tenacity

The Weapons We Train

Fencers of the past were expected to know many weapons, each with its own methods and traditions. Skills learned in one discipline can often clarify another. Our chief study is the longsword, but we believe in the value of training with a wide range of historical arms.
